Cheer yourself up! One Easy low cost solution
Here are some ideas for an office spring clean:
- Archive, or even better, delete emails that have been sitting in your in-box for over six months.
- Save attachments directly on to your hard drive.
- Think about the paperwork you will need to keep, for tax and reference purposes, and shred the rest.
- Invest in a shredder to prevent identity theft.
- Back up your files and systems to an external hard drive or server and delete off your computer what you don’t use on a regular basis.
- Delete the .tmp (temporary) files stored on your machine. The more .tmp files you have, the longer it takes for your system to boot, print or load programs.
- Gather all receipts and expenses and file appropriately.
- Review your practices and procedures.
- Throw out machinery that doesn’t work or items that haven’t been used in a while.
- Be ruthless!
If you are wondering why I am recommending you do this, its because it doesn’t cost you anything and you will feel a hell of a lot better when it is done. There are not a lot of these activities available at the moment!
