Consumers checking up on your company’s reputation

Posted by:

With thanks to the O2 Ideas Room for blog posts…

I wrote here a while ago about an application developed for the iPhone in the USA which allows consumers judge the responsibility level of a company’s products simply by holding the phone over that product in the supermarket.

Recently I read this article about another app for the iPhone developed by SAP and the Carbon Disclosure Product which shows a breakdown of corporate emissions.

Although we now have so much information available to us through the web, technology is moving to accompany us where and when we need it.  So you’re out shopping and see a product you like and right there you can easily check so much.  How does the retailer or the producer score in environmental performance? How does the product score in terms of responsibility?  Oh and while you’re at it can you find it cheaper anywhere else?

Companies think they’re under the microscope now? Just wait!
